Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers concise easy-to-master techniques for the at-home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best eateries within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step after she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great experience. I could not be more educated or accomplished in my studies. Following graduation at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners chef Burrell took a full year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culture and cuisine while in Italy, which has influenced her style of cooking. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to increase living conditions for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of children's diabetes. She travels frequently around the United States in her position in the capacity of mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her work and passion for cooking. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share what I love most in life with others.
